Job Summary:

At UEI, we are looking for a dynamic Production Planner / Scheduler to join our team to ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will take charge of planning and scheduling to guarantee the timely procurement and manufacture of essential components. You will also develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules for all assigned resources, ensuring on-time and complete deliveries. Moreover, you’ll play a pivotal role in meeting customer requirements and achieving company goals through meticulous planning and coordination! This position reports to the Manager, Customer Service & Planning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with Operations to ensure all required production is scheduled to meet timelines.
  • Balance production requirements with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams.
  • Prepare daily production schedule and recommend changes to minimize quality or on-time delivery issues consistent with plant capacity and resources.
  • Maintain order backlog including initial order scheduling based on capacity plan, material availability, and production constraints.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing Manager on raw materials and outside services to manage customer orders.
  • Identify gaps within the process and drive solutions, including metrics on production performance and on time delivery.
  • Manage inventory planning including targeted inventory turns, safety stocks, excess, and obsolescence.
  • Drive objectives for optimum delivery, lead times, inventory turns, revenue attainment, etc.
  • Review MRP action report. Determine priorities for releasing work orders based on availability of parts and due dates.
  • Responsible for committing delivery dates on firm orders based on Production and Quality capacity requirements planning.
  • Define sequence, establish priorities for all process orders at each work center, and track the execution of orders.
  • Support studies and analysis based on new scenarios, projects, budget cycles, or reforecast.
  • Gather and analyze data for metrics and KPIs for the area.
  • Review workloads with Manager, Customer Service & Planning, set priorities, and expedite orders as required.
  • Provide administrative support for operations group.
  • Produce a variety of reports and distribute as required.
  • Ensure that work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition and established company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to government military contracts.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience with planning / supply chain.
  • Prior experience with NetSuite or similar ERP / MRP system.
  • Due to the nature of UEI's programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Planning
  • Strong analytical skills and system-driven mindset with critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Electronic component knowledge
  • Proficiency with Microsoft (Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and MS Project).
  • Familiarity with RoHS / WEEE issues and mitigation strategies
  • Prior experience in an ISO environment, executing vendor surveys and audits
  • Self-motivated with the desire to work in a small company environment with the structure of a large corporation
