Job Description:
Reporting to the Global HR Director, the Global EHS Manager defines, deploys and drives the company’s EHS strategy across all sites (US & EMEA). The role ensures full regulatory compliance, fosters a strong safety culture, and supports operational excellence by minimizing risks and improving workplace conditions.
Responsibilities:
The Global EHS Manager will:
- EHS Strategy & Governance
- Define and deploy a global EHS strategy and roadmap aligned with business priorities
- Establish a robust governance framework (policies, standards, procedures) across all sites
- Ensure consistency between global standards and local regulatory requirements
- Act as the global reference point for EHS topics
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with EHS regulations (OSHA, EU directives, environmental & labor laws)
- Lead risk assessments (safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, ergonomics)
- Implement and monitor preventive and corrective action plans
- Anticipate regulatory changes and manage compliance risks with leadership visibility
- Operational EHS Support to sites
- Support and coach site management and local EHS contacts
- Ensure full compliance with EHS regulations (OSHA, EU directives, environmental & labor laws)Lead risk assessments (safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, ergonomics)Anticipate regulatory changes and manage compliance risks with leadership visibility
- Provide expertise during audits, inspections, and crisis situations
- Balance operational performance with safety requirements
- Incident Management & Continuous Improvement
- Define and manage a global incident management framework
- Lead serious incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Track effectiveness of corrective actions and lessons learned
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on data and trends
- EHS Performance & Reporting
- Define and monitor KPIs (TRIR, LTIR, near misses, environmental indicators)
- Build executive dashboards and reporting for leadership (COMEX-ready)
- Ensure data reliability and standardization across regions
- Benchmark EHS performance
- Culture, Training & Leadership Engagement
- Promote a strong safety culture across all sites
- Design and deploy EHS training programs
- Increase leadership accountability on safety topics
- Drive communication and awareness initiatives
- Audits, Certifications & External Relations
- Lead internal and external audit programs
- Manage ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 certifications
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external bodies
- Ensure audit readiness across sites
- Environmental Management & Sustainability
- Lead initiatives to reduce environmental footprint (waste, emissions, energy)
- Ensure compliance with environmental reporting obligations
- Contribute to ESG / sustainability roadmap
- Facilities Strategy & Operations
- Define and deploy a global facilities management framework (standards, maintenance, safety, services)
- Ensure compliance of buildings and infrastructures with local regulations (safety, fire protection, environmental)
- Oversee maintenance strategies (preventive, corrective, lifecycle management) across sites
- Optimize workplace conditions (space planning, ergonomics, employee experience)
- Manage facility-related budgets and cost optimization initiatives
- Vendor & Infrastructure Management
- Select and manage external service providers (maintenance, security, cleaning, utilities)
- Ensure service quality, performance monitoring, and contract compliance
- Support capex projects related to buildings and infrastructure (renovation, expansion, new sites)
- Business Continuity & Site Safety
- Ensure business continuity plans (BCP) for facilities and infrastructures
- Oversee emergency preparedness (fire drills, evacuation, crisis management)
- Integrate facilities risks into global risk management framework
- Team Leadership & Local Coordination
- Manage and develop the Facilities Coordinator based in France
- Set priorities, objectives, and performance indicators for the role
- Ensure effective coordination between local execution (France) and global strategy
- Provide coaching, support, and professional development
- Ensure alignment between EHS and Facilities activities at site level
Requirements:
- Education & experience:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Occupational Health & Safety
- 8–12+ years of experience in EHS in an industrial environment
- Proven experience in multi-site / international environment
- Professionnal knowledge & abilities:
- Strong knowledge of US and EU EHS regulations
- Experience with ISO 9001, 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
- Strong leadership and influence skills (matrix organization)
- Analytical mindset and risk management capabilities
