Job Description: 

Summary:

Plan, organize, and direct technicians and workflow of designated field installation projects to ensure the company goals or objectives for the projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or in conjunction with technicians and other company staff.  Interface with customers to ensure progress and completion of projects meet customer expectations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review the projects to determine timelines, cost limitations, procedures for accomplishing the tasks, technician requirements, and allotment of materials and technical resources to various phases of the project.  Responsible for ensuring the project is staffed properly and all reports are filed in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
  • Manage the daily hours and work progress of the healthcare installation technicians.
  • Coordinate the deliveries of materials to the job sites.
  • Supervise all job labor (shop and on-site) and subcontract labor.
  • Attend weekly production meetings to communicate weekly progress of projects and any other meetings as required by the Construction Manager, Consultant or company representative.
  • Confer with appropriate project staff to identify specific tasks to be accomplished, develop and implement a work plan and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. On a daily basis review the project technician performance to ensure they are operating in a safe manner and completing the daily task assignments on time and in the desired quality as stipulated by company standards.
  • Confer with the project personnel to provide technician advice and to resolve problems.
  • Direct and coordinate the daily activities for project personnel to ensure task objectives are met and the project progress is on schedule and with the prescribed budget.
  • Discipline the technical staff for violations of corporate policy or safety policies.
  • Provide written flow charts and project reports for management, customers and other Construction management companies.
  • Communicate to the customer and Rauland Integrated Solutions staff in writing or via e-mail on a weekly basis with the progress of projects.  Coordinate the completion of warranty statements, operation and maintenance manuals and final test results.
  • Assemble the information necessary for change orders including materials and labor and communicate in writing to sales support team.
  • Reviews all preliminary “as-built’ drawings and forwards the corrected copies to the CAD department for final preparation and assembly. 
  • Prepare and mail drawings/As-Builts to customers upon job completion or upon request.
  • Collects all “Technician Final Checklists” and “Programming Sheets” and forwards the information to the training department.
  • Prepares the “Final paperwork package” and forwards the package to the accounting department and coordinates final billing.

 

Education/ Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from a college or university in project or construction management or five years technical field experience managing multiple projects.  Should be able to use Microsoft Office products and familiarity with Smartsheet.

 

Skills:

Ability to read and interpret technical documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine work reports and correspondence to staff and customers.  Must have the ability to speak effectively before external groups of customers and employees within the organization.  Ability to apply concepts of basic Algebra and Geometry. Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints.  Demonstrate ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must have the ability to plan and direct the actions of a technical staff and supervise daily performance against established standards. Must be able to lift and/or move components up to 30 pounds.

 

Accountability:

Successful execution of this Operations Manager position is evaluated on the basis of all projects being completed within the hours and budgets stipulated and by feedback from customers.
