The duties of the role include

 

  • Test products in accordance with documented test procedures
  • Maintain/Produce factory test reports as required.
  • Install products at our customers’ sites, meeting all contractual performance and quality/safety requirements and providing on-site test reports
  • Provide customer training in the factory and on-site where required
  • Provide support the Service department, either by performing service visits or email/phone/remote support, if requested by the Test & Installation Manager

 

The T&I role entails taking a newly assembled mass spectrometer (built in-house by our assembly team) and turning it into the instrument our customers need to make their next scientific breakthrough. Due to the complex nature of the manufacturing, there are often problems that need to be solved along the way.  After testing, we prepare the instruments for delivery to customers round the globe (primarily China, USA and EU). Finally, we install the instruments at customer laboratories all over the and once commissioned, we train our customers on how to get the most out of their new mass spectrometers.

 

This is a practical, hands-on role that requires a flexible approach and at least some knowledge from a range of disciplines such as physics, chemistry, maths, electronics and software. Some core skills required for this are fault-finding/diagnostics and the ability to communicate complex ideas to people from anywhere in the word. This role suits those who are naturally curious, comfortable with solo international travel and able to work well with a diverse range of people.
