Job Description:
The Senior Quality Engineer (SQE) is a seasoned technical leader who partners cross‑functionally to ensure the organization consistently meets or exceeds quality, delivery, and operational performance goals. The SQE leverages advanced analytical methods, quality engineering tools, and strong problem‑solving capabilities to resolve complex quality issues, drive systemic improvements, and mentor others in best‑practice quality processes.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Interpret, implement, and conform to customer requirements
- Develop and approve quality procedures
- Develop and maintain inspection plans/ standards
- Oversee implementation of calibration systems for inspection and process testing procedures/equipment used in manufacturing operations in accordance with AS9100 standards
- Actively coordinate and be responsible for new product launch activities and revised designs as assigned
- Manage daily activities of the quality inspector/auditor, coordinate and improve quality control process with responsibility for high-level product quality
- Analyze customer complaints, returns and professionally support customer communication
- Improve quality processes focusing on customer satisfaction and competitiveness through six sigma and Lean tools
- Provide auditing and compliance support
- Help to determine quality and reliability standards
- Support Supplier Quality and improvement activities
- Compile and evaluate statistical data reflective of product reliability and quality
- Generate corrective and preventive action plans
What You Will Bring to the Role
- A minimum of eight (8) years of work experience in Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, or Engineering project management in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in the application of APQP, PPAP, and risk mitigation desired
- Experience with Value Stream analysis and Lean Methodology desired
- Experience in MS Office, Oracle, MinTab, and SQL
- Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Experience working in Quality Assurance, ISO/AS environment preferred
- Experience in dealing with customers and suppliers
- Knowledge of GD&T and CMM programming preferred
- Strong Knowledge and understanding of QA and QC
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred
- Ability to travel to support customer and/or supplier issues
- Proficient in using inspection equipment, such as calipers and micrometers, CMM and Imaging Systems
- Ability to pass a background check and 9-panel drug test
- Due to the nature of Rotron's programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the US and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work for prolonged periods on a computer or in a lab environment
- Ability to move equipment up to 25 pounds
