Job Title: Senior PCB Designer

Position Summary:
This PCB designer assists engineering in the design and development of detailed layouts of printed circuit boards. The PCB designer develops printed circuit board layouts based on input from both electrical and mechanical engineers defining the overall functional requirements while staying within the physical constraints provided. The PCB designer will be responsible for importing schematics generated by various electrical engineers as well as completing schematic drawings with minimal engineering assistance. The PCB Designer is responsible for releasing the complete PCB assembly package including fabrication drawing, assembly prints and bill of materials.
Qualifications:
- Experienced reading schematics and mechanical assembly prints
- Experienced designing PTH and SMT circuit boards
- Experienced using 3D PCB design and layout using Altium 3D or similar tools
- Developed components, and managing library elements for electrical engineering
- Document assembly drawings with Altium and SolidWorks CAD software
- Experience developing PCB to meet IPC class 3 standards
- Working knowledge of military and commercial aerospace standards
- Experience with generating and implementing engineering changes via engineering change orders
- Prepare and release all required assembly and fabrication documentation, including 2D drawings and 3D models
- Experience integrating PCBAs into mechanical enclosures
Responsibilities:
- Review PCB layouts to ensure proper EMI, EMC and safety concerns are accounted for
- Generate electrical schematics, drawings and 3D models using Altium PCB 3D and SolidWorks
- Design through hole and surface mount PCB assemblies using 3D PCB layout tool
- Update hand drawn or PADS drawings, into change order systems or transfer to Altium PCB
- Good planning and organization skills
- Prepare and release all required assembly and fabrication documentation, including 2D drawings and 3D models
Education and Experience
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design (Required)
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience utilizing 3D PCB design tools.
- An associate’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (Required)
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (A Plus)
- Any certifications such as IPC, CID, and REACH (A Plus)
- Experience with PADS (A Plus)
- Experience with SolidWorks drawings, modeling, and assemblies (A Plus)
