Position Summary
The Quality Technician works with engineering and manufacturing to ensure products meet all applicable specifications. Further, the technician supports Operations and Customer Service in meeting business goals and customer expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities

Ability to complete a wide variety of complicated inspection procedures and tests for incoming material and finish production parts

Ability verify, receive and log incoming material against packing slip

Ability to identify and assign packages and containers to proper stocking location or distribution point
-
Ability to perform tooling inspection or receiving inspection to a wide variety of parts, components of different sizes, shapes, machining, castings, and other purchase parts by following standard quality control procedures

Ability to read basic mechanical and electronic drawings, specifications, and packing sheets’ and comprehend and follow other written and verbal technical instructions.

Maintains proper hard copy and digital documentation of certificates and records relating to all receipts, part and tooling inspections, and calibration schedules.

Coordinates retrieval and delivery of out-of-calibration tooling with appropriate internal/external parties. Maintains calibration schedule to support manufacturing or assembly of products without impact.

Compiles, tabulates, and summarizes test and inspection data

Maintains appropriate records relating to quality in order to quantify progress against established goals

Interface with Planning, Engineering, Operations, Etc.

Leads or Participates in Problem Solving Teams on Root Cause Analysis

Perform FAI’s (Internal Levels 1,2 &3) to determine conformance to specified requirement

Have or Obtain DQR Certifications as required

FAA DMIR Certificate as required
-
Review product manufacturing and quality records to verify completeness and acceptability
-
Identify, contain, and document nonconforming material (NCR/ MDR)
-
Interface with customer source inspectors and coordinate product acceptance.

Assist Manufacturing personnel to ensure that all products and workmanship meet the respective standards.

Recommend changes to processes based on findings.

Knowledge of AS9100 standard and its requirements

Report department metrics to management as required

Perform other duties as in-process inspection as needed.

Product Knowledge or proven aptitude to quickly learn what is needed (Fans, Blowers)

Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
Education and Experience
-
Knowledge of G, D & T
-
Ability to utilize a CMM (preferred)

Avionics manufacturing experience, minimum one year.
Physical Requirements
-
Continuous periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and phone.

Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds at a time.

Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands.
