As a key member of the accounting staff, reporting directly to the VP-Finance, you will be responsible for various general Accounting functions and preparation of consolidated division reports. In this role you will provide financial support & analysis to the Rotron sites in Woodstock, NY and El Cajon, CA as well as Divisional support. You will also be responsible for Revenue Recognition Procedures, overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll. ASC606, General Ledger, Month End Close, Lease Accounting, and inancial Statements.
How you will make an impact:
- Supervise General Accountants
- Manage the month-end process for financial statements and cash flow for the Business Unit – including streamlining the reporting cycle
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards and manage training program for departmental personnel
- Review workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with industry standards
- Coordinate the activities of multiple functions involved in the preparation of Business Unit forecasts, budgeting, and reviewing manufacturing performance
- Establish budgetary control systems and monitor compliance to budget and monthly forecasts
- Work with Production on KPI’s and Engineering on VA/VE to provide monthly reports
- Review excess & obsolete inventory on a quarterly basis; communicate to senior management any changes in reserve required
- Prepare financial statements and generate summary reports
- Complete balance sheet flux analysis & bring issues to management attention during close
- Handle personally or supervise general ledger reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with all internal controls
- Assist VP of Finance with a variety of tasks as needed
- Reconcile trial balances to corporate office financials
What you will bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- CMA or Master's Degree preferred
- Minimum 6+ years financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and accounting, preferably within a multi-site manufacturing environment
- Hyperion Enterprise and Oracle experience a plus
- Understanding of ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
- SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Ability to understand manufacturing environment and associated financial processes
- Strong leadership, supervisory and management abilities
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills and extensive knowledge of financial software programs
- Substantial knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting standards
- Confidence in communication and interaction with all levels of management throughout the company
