Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager to support our Winnipeg, Manitoba facility. In this pivotal role, you will champion employee engagement, talent acquisition, and front-line HR leadership, while service as a trusted business partner across departments. You’ll lead initiatives in employee relations, benefits administration, talent development, and talent strategy, helping shape a culture of growth and collaboration. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Local HR Operations
- Own and execute all HR functions for the business segment. Ensure smooth day-to-day operations while identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
- Strategic HR Leadership
- Collaborate closely with various teams and leaders to shape a workplace culture that supports performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance on workforce planning and team dynamics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a mentor and resource for department leaders, helping them navigate people-related challenges and build strong, resilient teams.
- Learning & Development
- Coordinate and deliver training programs for employees, focusing on core skills and/or leadership readiness. Identify internal development opportunities and support career progression.
- Employee Engagement & Recognition
- Manage recognition programs that celebrate milestones, contributions, and achievements. Foster open communication and feedback through structured and informal channels.
- Health, Safety & Wellbeing
- Partner with EHS to implement and maintain safety programs that meet regulatory standards and promote employee safety and wellbeing. Support ergonomics initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety.
- Drive Policy & Compliance
- Interpret and enforce company policies with clarity and consistency. Stay ahead of regulatory changes and ensure full compliance with federal and local employment laws. Conduct investigations and represent the company for legal matters as needed.
- Recruitment & Onboarding Excellence
- Lead recruitment efforts using a variety of sourcing strategies to attract top talent. Oversee interviewing and selection processes, and ensure onboarding is thorough, welcoming, and aligned with company values.
- Compensation & Role Clarity
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date job descriptions. Conduct market and internal compensation analyses to support fair and competitive pay practices. Guide leaders through budgeting, pay planning, and implementation.
- Community Engagement
- Promote team participation in local volunteer and service activities within the community that reflect company values. Build partnerships with community organizations and encourage employees to engage in initiatives that foster connection, pride, and shared purpose.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6-8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to influence and build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRI Systems
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally ~10% of the time
