Job Description: 

AMETEK SFMS is seeking a Sr. Manager, Aftermarket Growth & Services to lead the strategic direction, operational execution, and financial performance of the aftermarket business segment. In addition, the position will be responsible to formulate and lead new business development, proposal and contacting activities across commercial and military aftermarket segments.  This position requires an experienced, results-oriented business development professional with extensive knowledge of manufacturing operations and distribution.  The individual will formulate and lead the effort to identify, qualify, and execute business growth strategies expanding our current market or product reach within the aerospace & defense, industrial, energy marketplaces while also aligning with SFMS revenue and profit growth strategies and working closely with key internal functions and the A&D division salesforce.   This person will oversee the business development, proposal and product management activities, aftermarket and services partnering relationships, and will work with our distribution and MRO partners, build and bring to closure a pursuit pipeline aligned to a well-formulated growth plan.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • STRATEGIC: Develop and execute the global aftermarket strategy, identify growth opportunities and lead cross-functional teams through execution
  • OPERATIONAL: Oversee distribution spare parts logistics, repair turnaround times, and field service operations. Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and drive continuous improvement in service processes, KPIs, and cost efficiency.
  • FINANCIAL: manage financial performance for the aftermarket market segment, forecast revenue, margins, and operational costs. Develop pricing strategies for parts, services, and support contracts.
  • TEAM LEADERSHIP: Build and lead a high-performing global team across service centers and customer support. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer focus. Mentor and develop talent within the organization.
  • Leverage excellent business development experience and relationships with the distribution partners and MROs, operate strategically with procurement, engineering, sales, senior executives, and other customer functions to identify, align and formulate plans for future growth (2-5 years)
  • Develop new market / product/ program targets (PMA, SAR, STCs) through analysis of end user and customer requirements, budgets, market trends and long-term procurement plans, and outreach with customers, industry leaders and decision makers.
    • Qualify fit of SFMS products (current and future) through understanding of end-user and customer requirements, funding profiles, and program / platform schedule milestones. Develop a long-term forecast for these markets / programs that align to our new product / technology roadmaps.
    • Develop market objectives, value propositions, discriminators, and differentiators; assist in identifying potential teaming partners and technology requirements.
    • Oversee bid / no-bid decisions and develop pursuit plans, value propositions, commercial offers and negotiate mutually acceptable terms.
    • Work as an integrated team member across the business unit and division leadership team in a highly collaborative and team-centric culture.

     

    EDUCATION

    • BA/BS required with Engineering Degree preferred

     

    EXPERIENCE

    • 10+ years of experience in a similar role focused on high-technology aerospace and defense components.
    • Experience managing distribution partners and MROs
    • Experience with the entire business development cycle through contracting
    • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $155,000
Salary Maximum:  $190,000
Incentive:  Market
