Job Description: 

The Planner/Scheduler will work in our Wilmington, MA facility in support of the Sensors & Fluid Management Systems Business Unit. This person will be responsible for ensuring inventory levels are balanced to meet Engineering development schedules, Customer On-Time Delivery, and inventory/working capital goals. Candidate must be a self-starter and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and flexible environment.

 

This position reports directly to the Director, Supply Chain

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze production and development demands. Partners with Engineering, Customer Service, Production, and Purchasing to generate demand forecasts, New Product Development Scheduling and Master Production Schedule

  • Ensures proper scheduling of materials for production in accordance with customer demands, capacity, and equipment availability

  • Works with suppliers to maintain minimum inventory to support production schedule

  • Maintains ERP (Oracle) system production schedules to ensure they are accurate and up to date

  • Creates and release travelers and work orders to production as required

  • Plan for and review shortages with team buyers, including management of shelf-life-limited materials in ERP system

  • Able to work in a high product mix environment.

  • Interfaces with production to resolve problems relevant to material receipt and material quality

  • Generates, analyzes and distributes production and inventory level reports to management.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement on a daily basis.

  • Takes the initiative to resolve planning and purchasing issues without supervision.

  • Willingly participates with production teams to resolve production, purchasing and planning issues.

  • Works with engineering and operations to implement new products and generate development build planning

  • Leads and/or participates in inventory management/reduction initiatives and teams

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management /supply chain management or similar field of study preferred, or applicable work experience

  • APICS certification a plus

  • Inventory management, including ERP inventory control, cycle counting, and reconciliation

  • 5+ years material planning, scheduling, production control or supply chain role, preferably in aerospace.

  • Detail-oriented, well organized, self-motivated with the ability to multi-task

  • Proficiency in Oracle or similar ERP/MRP system

  • Proficient in MS Excel, including advanced spreadsheet creation and manipulation

  • Open to continuous change with the ability to learn new skills

  • Hands-on, self-motivated, self-starter, strong work ethic, self-advocate

  • Strong communication skills, including a strong English language capability

  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Organized and prompt, both with scheduled needs and response to issues

  • Experience in high product mix manufacturing a plus
