Job Description:
The IT Support Technician position is primarily responsible for supporting the Information Technology infrastructure for the manufacturing in Wilmington Massachusetts as well as remote support for other AMETEK locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Installs and supports server and desktop technologies for centralized division and/or facility equipment (including operating system maintenance, application maintenance, data archive).
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
- Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests.
- Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or remotely while on site in Wilmington).
- Setting up accounts for new users and terminating accounts as well.
- Testing new technology as applicable.
- Managing employee and vendor badge program.
- Keep all systems compliant with AMETEK security standards for Microsoft updates, Antivirus (CrowdStrike) , etc.
- Work with local and wide area network (TCPIP), wireless/RF devices, Aruba.
- Azure knowledge preferred.
- Provide support for the Servers (Windows 2016 2022), PCs (primarily Windows 11), PC applications and Printers throughout the facilities.

- Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone).
- Knowledge of CMMC 2.0 Compliance preferred.
- Testing new technology as applicable.
- Install and configure Company approved software.
- Ensure maximum local system availability and remote connectivity.
- Identify and diagnose software/hardware issues, provide options, recommendations and troubleshooting.
- May require working off hours as business needs arise.
- Maintain/enforce the IT Security Policies and procedures.
- Develop key relationships with users and develop an understanding of key business processes.
- On occasion and prior to holidays due to business priorities, overtime may be required. At times, work hours may need to be adjusted depending on the needs of the business and backup covering for vacations etc.
- Uses equipment and materials properly.
- Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for Consideration
- Associate’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of IT experience in Windows desktop support.
- Knowledge of Desktop applications including MS Office 365.
- Experience in the support of other desktop technologies including printers and scanners.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic network issues and escalate as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Solid organizational skills: and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization.
- Proven business partnership skills with the demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organizational environment.
- Must be able to manage a variety of concurrent tasks and prioritize work to meet the growing demands of the business.
- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner. Due to contracts with the United States Government, the candidate must be either a US Citizen or Green card holder
