Job Description:
The Operations Manager is responsible for meeting production goals, implementing process improvement activities & sophisticated Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma techniques to maximize profits, quality and on-time delivery within our Repair Center and New Production Line. This position reports directly to the PDS Director of Operations.
Job Responsibilites:
- Directly supervise production employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance and setting development goals; coaching employees; rewarding and disciplining employees; setting and adjusting employee pay; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Ensures production requirements are met; work with subordinate supervisors to address problems.
- Synchronizes labor to complete as much work as possible within timeframes.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Maintains time and production records; records and tracks employee attendance.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or employees.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.
- Recommends suggestions to improve the quality of product being produced.
- Participate in regular staff meetings.
- Prepare and meet forecasted product delivery commitments

- Ensure requirements of customers are met, reducing costs and ensuring on-time delivery
- Establish metrics to improve efficiency, effectiveness and communication, moving organization toward operational excellence
Job Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree required: Business, Engineering or related field
- 7-10 years’ proven experience plus industry-related progressive manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Need a high level of people skills w/ demonstrated successful leadership as the driving force in successful organizational changes
- Proven success working with computerized Operating System
- Having utilized education and experience making operational changes using advanced Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools
- Proactive and positive team player with excellent analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner and to develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, customers, co-workers, employees and management; the ability to respond promptly to needs and requests for service and assistance; and ability to meet commitments
