Job Description: 

As a Supply Chain Intern, you will work directly with the Buyer/Planner Supervisor to gain real-world experience working on actual supply chain projects within the Bison business unit. Our manufacturing facility produces motors, blowers, pumps, motor drives, and associated electronics that are used in a variety of demanding industries.

 

What you will do:

  • Assist with materials planning and inventory management to support production schedules
  • Support procurement activities, including supplier coordination, purchase order tracking, and delivery performance monitoring.
  • Analyze inventory usage, scrap, and material variances to help improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and warehouse teams to ensure timely material flow to the manufacturing floor.
  • Help track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory turns, and production readiness.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean / Six Sigma-driven initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Assist with additional supply chain and operational projects as assigned.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Must be enrolled in a relevant Supply Chain/Business degree program at an accredited university;
  • Sophomore or higher-level standing
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail to effectively communicate with others is highly beneficial
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
