Job Description:
We are seeking a driven Industrial Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support manufacturing operations for brushless DC motors, pumps, and blower products. This role focuses on improving safety, quality, productivity, and cost by applying engineering fundamentals, lean manufacturing principles, and data-driven analysis. The Industrial Engineer will work closely with production, machining, quality, and supply chain teams to develop efficient processes, optimize layouts, and maintain accurate Oracle system data.
What you will do:
- Conduct time studies, work sampling, and Standard Work development to optimize labor utilization and cycle times.
- Analyze manufacturing processes for both assembly lines and the machine shop; identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and update process routings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Design, modify, and implement production line layouts for machining, winding, assembly, testing, and packaging areas.
- Improve plant material flow, ergonomics, and space utilization.
- Support layout changes for new equipment, new product introductions, and capacity scaling.
- Lead and participate in Kaizen events, continuous improvement workshops, and root‑cause analysis activities.
- Champion Lean principles such as 5S, visual management, waste elimination (TIMWOOD), and error-proofing (poka-yoke).
- Establish and maintain 5S standards in production and machining areas.
- Create and maintain Oracle manufacturing data, including: routings & work centers, standard cycle & setup times, part number attributes & costing data
- Troubleshoot Oracle discrepancies and support accurate system performance for production planning and costing.
- Support Manufacturing Engineers with New Product releases by developing initial process flows, capacity models, and manufacturability feedback.
- Assist with the specification, justification, and implementation of new equipment, tooling, and fixturing in both assembly and machining operations.
- Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), scrap, rework, throughput, and productivity metrics.
- Provide analytical reports and recommendations to improve performance.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment; or combination of education and experience
- Experience and knowledge of Lean manufacturing engineering, manufacturing processes, machine shop practices, and electromechanical principles; Familiar with characteristics and cutting qualities of materials, function, and operation of machine tools; assembly, inspection, and material flow
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering prints, electrical diagrams, company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and company procedure manuals; Ability to read and interpret documents relating to all phases of operation of a manufacturing facility.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Oracle
