Job Description: 

As the IT Administrator for our Bison business unit, you will function as the software and hardware expert providing system guidance, support and troubleshooting for our Whitsett, North Carolina location. You will be responsible for maintaining and administering IT systems that enable critical business operations in conjuction with corporate IT policies. 

What you will do:

  • Train and develop end users to troubleshoot and utilize software.

  • Keep all essential personal computers, peripherals, and software functioning in support of daily business operations.

  • Complete the repair, placement, and/or upgrade of personal computer hardware and software and communicate workflow status to the user.

  • Ensure the integrity, protection, and operation of data systems, particularly during repairs and testing.

  • Collaborate with other departments to improve efficiency of reporting and processes.

  • Proactively facilitate and execute continuous improvement projects.

  • Review system efficiency and recommend changes to leadership as needed to improve user experience.

  • Investigate and identify new technologies in the IT arena and work with corporate Information Services and AMETEK AMS personnel to implement projects that meet corporate and/or facility objectives.

  • Maintain and support the communications systems as well as facilitate repairs with outside contractors as needed.

  • Collaborate with divisional and corporate support staff to solve problems, install new equipment and software, and maintain user networks on servers.

  • Document standard procedures for backup personnel to user.

  • Maintain records for software licenses, equipment, and updates.
  • Maintain an inventory of software drivers, repair parts, and consumable supplies for all user departments.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and examine peripherals for potential failures or upgrades.

  • Complete other duties as assigned and work with minimal supervision.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required.

  • 3-5 years’ related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A solid understanding of IT operations and requirements, including data storage and backup, hardware and equipment, and network systems required.

  • Proven repair and troubleshooting of PC hardware and software in a network environment required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other desktop and operating system applications required.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, network switches, and hubs required.

 

Additional characteristics:

  • Results-oriented, team player attitude with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and deliverables.

  • Knowledge of Oracle database applications preferred.

  • Knowledge of MS Navision and SQL required; certifications a plus.

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $70,000
Salary Maximum:  $95,000
