Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist at our Whitsett, NC plant to carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following areas: compensation and benefits, training and development, recruitment and onboarding, HRIS, employee and labor relations, HR policies and procedures, inclusion and employment equity programs. You will report to our Human Resources Manager and will interact with our US divisional team, while being an integral part of the team.
What you will do:
- Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations
- Respond to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints
- Represent the company for any unemployment claims
- Facilitate and/or provide training to the workforce
- Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs
- Interview, screen, and recruit job applicants to fill entry, professional, and technical level job openings, as needed
- Manage Apprenticeship Program and it's necessary requirements
- Conduct new hire orientation and coordinate the full onboarding process
- Conduct exit interviews and prepare and enters separation and COBRA information; Analyze separation data to make recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of employee grievances and coordinate processes of responding to complaints
- Assist in the administration of the various human resource functions and policies including, but not limited to, hiring, unemployment compensation, and the enforcement of rules and policies
- Distribute information on and explain benefits programs such as retirement, health, life, disability, and workers' compensation plans to employees and dependents
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources matters
- Manage employee events and maintain partnerships with the local community
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.A) from a four-year college or equivalent
- 2+ years of HR experience, or a combination of education and experience
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
- Excellent working knowledge of employee relations and human resources principles
- Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations is preferred
- Strong PC and business systems knowledge; ADP and SuccessFactors considered a plus
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to resolve a course of action within diversified, yet explicit, well-established procedures
- Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
- Ability to research and analyze various types of data
- Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or government law
- Excellent interpersonal skills
