Job Description: 

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and excellence of our products and processes. This position is responsible for monitoring and improving quality systems across the plant, supporting customer-specific initiatives, and driving continuous improvement through root cause analysis and corrective actions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing and quality management systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors the quality receiving and production program to ensure conformity of
    purchased material and final products to quality standards.
  • Responsible for specific processes and/or customer products with regard to overall quality requirements and improvements.
  • Supports all areas of the plant regarding all aspects of product quality and quality
    system applications.
  • Devises, designs, or develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and
    reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Designs and develops Quality system procedures and instructions.
  • Supports Return Material Analysis/MRB as needed or directed to determine root cause and apply effective corrective actions.
  • Performs root cause analysis and implements corrective actions to address quality issues.
  • Strong ability to solve problems and prevent/reduce waste using quality tools, such as: Ranking/Pareto analysis, cost of quality indicators, statistical tools,
    capability analysis, Cause and Effect, 8D, 5 WHYs, etc.
  • Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to
    discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
  • Meets with customers to implement, manage and drive customer specific initiatives, including supporting additional locations where necessary to implement lessons learned and process expertise for customer specific requirements.
  • Supports quality related audits as needed.
  • Ability to communicate orally and produce written documents with clearly organized
    thoughts using proper terminology with all levels of employees and customer
    organizations.
  • Supports/trains workers engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, products, or process quality and reliability.
  • Develops training documents and presentations.
  • Supports risk analysis / PFMEA development through cross functional group.
  • Ability to interface with customers, respond to their concerns, and to verify effective
    results in an expedient manner.
  • Ability to coordinate First Article Inspections and support as needed.
  • Ensures that we maintain a team atmosphere and work collaboratively with additional departments to support quality related efforts.
  • Minimal travel as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements:

  • BS Engineering or Material Science preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education in similar fields.
  • Manufacturing experience with broad process knowledge.
  • Strong experience working in an ISO9000/ AS9100/ quality management system
    organization.
  • Familiar with basic inspection and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
    American Society for Quality Certified Quality Engineer preferred or equivalent
    AS9100 Auditor Training.
  • Customer Specific Delegation Training.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office
    products, including Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Strong experience working with customers.
  • Strong communication skills (written/oral).
  • The ability to deal with multiple priorities and make decisions independently.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States due to ITAR requirements for defense products.

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $80,000
Salary Maximum:  $100,000
Incentive:  No
