The Sales Manager is responsible for driving strategic sales growth across multiple markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, currently will report to the DVP Global Sales & Marketing.  As a key member of the company’s sales leadership team, the Sales Manager collaborates closely with business leadership to develop and execute strategies, create growth plans and budgets, and provide sales forecasts for operational and financial planning. The Sales Manager is also responsible for the leadership, development and motivation of the Sales,  Service and Applications teams in the assigned regions, as well as any Channel Partners (agents and distributors).

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the achievement of the sales target for the assigned territory and products
  • Keep focus on revenue, prices, discount level and profit
  • Develop a strategic plan to deliver strong growth across all regions and products that delivers consistent organic growth
  • Actively pursue new sales opportunities in differentiated market segments
  • Process and provide to management accurate sales forecasting and suggestions for new products
  • Keep constant and direct relations with customers providing support and participate in negotiations
  • Interact with customers at all levels, from operators to buyer to general manager providing customised technical solutions
  • Check and coordinate the activities for all assigned customers, constantly monitor the needs of the market and its trend, analyse and inform on the activities of competition and on potential of the company in the market
  • Prepare and make offers to customers
  • Work with the management team to develop forecast, budget, marketing and strategic plan
  • Lead, motivate and develop the Sales, Internal Sales, Service and Applications team as well as any Channel Partners, monitoring their activities, constantly aligning with strategic growth plans.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Experience (10+ years) in sales activities for industrial products, ideally complex high value capital equipment, with a good overall technical knowledge and team leadership talent / experience.
  • Degree level education, ideally STEM / Engineering.   

 

Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Previous experience in the Metrology business is a plus; with target industries: AeroSpace and Defence, Bearings, High precision Optics, Precision Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing.
  • Experience in developing and implementing promotional and marketing plans
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, internally and externally, at all levels.
  • Fluent English and German
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce or similar)
