Position Summary

 

We are seeking a skilled and driven Optical Engineer to design, analyze, and further develop our patented Multiwavelength Interferometers to stay on the forefront in surface and form metrology and realize the next generation Interferometer systems that underpin Taylor Hobsons surface and form measurement program.

In this role, you will be responsible for turning advanced optical designs into robust, manufacturable, and operable interferometer systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Developing novel optical probes for the surface and form metrology
  • Assembly, align and calibrate the BluePoint Interferometer systems
  • Optimize the current probe and interferometer technology
  • Develop new calibration rigs to simply probe manufacturing and reduce costs.

 

Experience/Qualifications

 

  • A master’s degree in Physics, Optical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent understanding of classical optics, gaussian beam optics laser- and fibre-physics and interferometry
  • Deep hands-on experience with Zemax (OpticStudio) or comparable optical design and simulation tools, including tolerance and POP (Physical Optics Propagation).
  • Solid expertise with CAD software, preferably Solid Works, and proficiency in tolerance analysis.
  • Expertise in Solid Works Manage and NAV is a plus.
