Position Summary:
The IT Manager will oversee the strategic direction of all information technology system and infrastructure activities for the global business operations within the Vision Research business unit of AMETEK. This individual will partner with the business unit leaders and the Materials Analysis Division IT Director to anticipate and recommend opportunities where information technology can advance business capabilities and provide a competitive advantage. The IT Manager will influence, and hold accountable, IT staff and business unit leaders to comply with Corporate directed initiatives. The IT Manager is responsible for the definition, development, implementation and ongoing operations of computer-based systems and related processes for the business unit. Additionally, the IT Manager will help to advance the state of project management within IT including solution use, standard processes, and a consistent delivery methodology. In this role. the IT Manager will oversee diverse projects including ERP/CRM application integration, ERP migrations, IT infrastructure and service delivery optimization, and digital transformation. This position reports directly to the Vision Research Division Vice President Business Unit Controller and a functional reporting line to the MAD Division Director.
Job Responsibilities:
- Experience developing and aligning IT strategies, infrastructure and policies that align with the company’s vision, strategies, and goals
- Infrastructure Management - oversee the installation, maintenance, and security of networks, servers, and hardware
- Team Leadership - supervise IT staff, including recruiting, training, and mentoring
- Prepare and administer the IT department’s operational and capital budgets
- Security & Compliance - identify vulnerabilities and ensure data systems are secure
- Manage relationships with vendors for software licenses
- Resolving information technology system issues and troubleshooting
- Evaluating modern technology trends and software
- Ensure the business is adhering to all corporate information security standards and policies
- Lead the technical aspects of digital projects, including ERP implementations, meeting deadlines and budgets
- Fluency in navigating a corporate IT ecosystem in a decentralized/shared resources environment.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted IT tools and awareness of associated data security considerations.
- Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Adapting approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations.
- Occasional travel to other BU facilities.
Position Requirements:
- 6-8 years industry experience with a bachelor’s degree in any field and demonstrated success in IT management including project management experience.
- Experience leading an ERP conversion required.
- Experience in a regulated industry.
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proven direct management style in a lean environment.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of project delivery methodologies.
- Ability to interact with company personnel, build strong relationships at all levels and across all business units and organizations, and understand business imperatives.
- Strong understanding of the business impact of IT tools, technologies, and policies.
- Experience with Linux platforms.
- SQL database and Gitlab knowledge and experience.
- Experience with Aptean Intuitive and Salesforce a strong plus.
