This Multi-Platform Analyst/Administrator position will report to the IT Director and is expected to interact with and support the Operations and Administrative staff. The Information Technology Analyst is accountable for maintaining the Company’s Desktop and Server systems and assists in the maintenance of the local and wide area networks. Duties include, but are not limited to, architecting, and implementing desktop and server computing environments, managing systems for patching and application deployment, ancillary support functions, and performing work assigned by the IT Director and periodically the Director Global IT Operations and Architecture. Candidates with more than 10 years of experience, working at least 5 years in a Manufacturing facility will be considered. The candidate will be able to equally navigate Microsoft and Linux environments with awareness of Cybersecurity standards, Computer System Life Cycle and best practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage Windows and Linux Servers including the operating systems, application programs and the physical/virtual infrastructure that runs them.
- Configure and maintain Windows and MacOS workstations, the application programs as well as hardware infrastructure that runs them.
- Manage backup of data and ensure integrity and availability of stored data.
- Ensure all computer systems, peripherals, programs, and applications meet the operational needs of Vision Research and AMETEK.
- Review monitoring jobs/logs to ensure system performance and availability.
- Deliver changes using the Change Management process when implementing major and minor software upgrades, patches, and hardware changes.
- Oversee installation and maintenance of servers’ and workstations’ hardware and software.
- Maintains clear communication with customers regarding mutual expectations and monitors customer satisfaction.
- Without direction, takes appropriate action to solve problems or overcome obstacles to achieving results.
- Maintain and operate software distribution/patching/installation system including development and testing of new application installation procedures.
- Review and put into action, plans to remediate security and vulnerability scans for all networks and devices.
- Provide platform support and computing infrastructure as needed for the Manufacturing OT environment.
- Create and maintain shell scripts.
- Support the management of the wireless devices connected to the network.
- Provide technical support, working both over the phone/via chat/video with end-users, documenting resolution through a ticketing system.
- Utilize troubleshooting skills to triage issues with tools running on Windows and Linux system.
- Tests restore/recovery hardware, software, and procedures.
- Maintain clear documentation of system(s) and maintenance activity.
- Ensure Cyber/Security conformance.
- In conjunction with Information Services Global and local teams, monitors and responds, as necessary, to after-hour information services alarms.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology, Information Services, Data Processing or related field.
- 4-year college or vocational degree in Information Services/Computer Science/related field or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience as a Windows Server Administrator
- Experience as or Proficient in Linux Server Administration with competent Command Line scripting.
- Experience with Virtualization / Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
- Knowledgeable of access control across operating systems, file systems, and services
- Knowledgeable of system auditing/log analysis processes and tools
- Excellent technical documentation skills.
- Experience in Change Management, Problem Management, and Incident Management
- Experience with Windows desktop OS / macOS.
- Experience with backup, directory services and application and operating system management in a networked environment.
- Experience with Shop Floor applications including MES is a plus.
- Position certifications acquired or in progress. (MCSE, CompTIA Server+) is a plus
- Must be able to lift 50lb. maximum with periodic lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25lb.

Technical Requirements:
- Expert level experience with Microsoft Server (2016 or greater)
- Expert level experience with VMware vSphere and proficient other VMware technologies.
- Proficient level experience with LINUX (Red Hat Enterprise, Ubuntu and Centos)
- Proficient level experience with Windows Server technologies (Terminal Services, Remote Desktop Services, Active Directory, Printing Services, Group Policy, Security Groups, etc.)
- Proficient level experience with computer hardware including workstation and Server hardware installation and maintenance.
- Proficient level experience with one or more backup solutions (Veeam, Carbonite Double Take Veritas Backup Exec).
- Competent knowledge of collaboration software including Teams and Internet technologies such as IIS, PHP, Apache, HTTPD and Tomcat, TLS/SSL, OpenSSL and related technologies.
- Competent knowledge of network hardware including Cisco switches and routers is a plus
- Competent knowledge of Licensed Server and SQL Server technologies
- Competent knowledge of applications within the Microsoft M365 ecosystem
- Competent knowledge of Autopilot in Intune and one or more of Azure technologies
- Working knowledge of troubleshooting VLANs, ACLs, Layer2/3
- Working knowledge of VNC and NoMachine
- Working knowledge of firewall setup, IPSEC VPN tunnels, design, and implementation of zones/NAT/ACLs is a plus
- Working knowledge of network protocols, technologies and operating systems, including Cisco IOS, XE, BGP, MPLS, VRF, VOIP is a plus.
