Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Summary:
Responsible for the proper release, maintenance and continuous improvement of complete, effective manufacturing processes. Integrates all assembly, inspection and test elements into process designs as lean and error-free as possible. Pilot run leader on new product development projects. Along with being part of the new product design team ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturability. Leads ongoing manufacturing process improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Mechanical and Electrical engineering, Production and Quality, ensure all non-standard product work orders are complete prior to release in terms of efficient assembly procedures and integrated test and inspection steps.
- Member of new product development teams ensuring early on the product design ease of assembly and test. Then ensuring all assembly, test and inspection steps are integrated to a smooth, lean process end to end.
- Serve as Pilot run Leader for each new product release, ensuring all issues are identified, documented and communicated to project leader and management.
- Identify manufacturing process improvement opportunities. Work with various departments as required to manage and implement the improvements.
- Troubleshoot production problems related to equipment or process/ documentation failures and identify corrective action needed. Work with various departments as required to complete corrective actions. Interacts as required with external Reps or customers on manufacturing related SCARS or FAs, as assigned by QA.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing process design for electro-mechanical assembly and test operations in a low volume / high mix job shop environment
- LEAN/5S training a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools- Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. Macola experience a plus.
- Creative ability, independent judgment, and documentation skills necessary to perform job accurately and on schedule.
- Good organizational, solving skills a must.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written.
- Work independently or as a team member.
