Job Summary:

Are you passionate about engineering and supply chain optimization? We are seeking a Component Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this critical role, you will serve as the technical bridge between Purchasing, Engineering, and Production, ensuring the right components are sourced, qualified, and maintained to support cost-effective, high-quality manufacturing. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a cross-functional environment, and is driven by continuous improvement, cost savings, and global collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Component Qualification & Documentation
  • Select, test, qualify, and document components to support purchasing and production needs
• Cost Reduction & Second Sourcing
  • Identify and implement second sourcing opportunities to reduce costs and mitigate supply risks

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

• • Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve component-related issues and support new product introductions

• Tariff Avoidance & Supplier Diversification

• • Support initiatives to avoid tariffs and identify alternate suppliers for core components

• Supplier Engagement

• • Travel to supplier sites to expedite First Article Inspections (FAIs) and validate supplier capabilities

• ERP Data Management

• • Maintain and update component records in Oracle ERP, ensuring complete and accurate documentation

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3-5 years of experience direct supply chain experience; experience within a manufacturing environment a strong plus
• Excellent communication skills: fluency in English required; additional language skills relevant to Asia markets are a plus
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally ~20% of the time

• Due to the nature of Power Quality Solutions’ programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.

Desired Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and a deep understanding of what matters in component selection and qualification
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods, electromechanical systems, and engineering design principles
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Demonstrated experience working with technical documentation and CAD systems
• Proven ability to work independently and reliably, driving for results with an entrepreneurial mindset
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across global teams and time zones
