Job Title: Stock Controller

Responsibilities in inventory control, shipping/export, receiving, storage/warehousing, and material handling. Ensure uninterrupted supply of material, through order picking and staging for production. Act as a primary custodian of inventory, for proper receiving and incoming inspection, as well as storage/warehousing & inventory control, cycle counts, and general production control activities. Shipping activities including packaging and material handling, as well as export compliance documentation.
Responsibilities section:
Inventory Control:
- Material receiving, handling, break-down & re-pack and proper storage.
- Control the in & out of material through material requisitions or order picking.
- Cycle counting and physical inventory activities, some inventory analysis work.
- Continuous organizing/re-organizing storage, creating new bin locations and inventory transfers as needed.
- All functions are inclusive of physical handling as well as the virtual transactions in the ERP system.
- Inspection of incoming products to verify contents, count, and quality.
- Live inventory transactions in Epicor ERP software system will be required.
- The NCR and RMA process will also be supported by the Stock Controller, in terms of executing material and repair dispositions.
Shipping/Export:
- Directly supporting all shipping, freight, logistics, and distribution activity, including import / export compliance.
- Load and unload shipments, with the potential for repetitive lifting, and the use of material handling equipment, e.g. forklift, pallet truck etc.
- Handling shipping requests, (such as Sales Orders/Order Entries/Parts Orders, Manual Shipping requests, requests for UPS labels, pick-up requests (from suppliers), and requests for freight quotes).
- Inspection of outgoing shipments to verify contents, count, and quality.
Requirements section:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree preferably in supply chain, material & operations.
- Experience using a forklift desired.
- 1-2 years of collective experience in inventory control, shipping/receiving, logistics, or material planning / purchasing – Co-op and internship experience will be considered
- Experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Physical requirements include stooping, bending, standing, climbing and lifting of between 20 kg – 30kg.
- Working knowledge and understanding of applicable software, e.g., an ERP system with MRP functionality, proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple expectations while meeting deadlines.
- Commitment to collaborating with internal and external partners and cross functional teams.
- Ability and drive to take on increased levels of learning and accountability with responsibility, good judgement, and exceptional service attitude.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Works well under pressure and is assertive with suppliers and internal customers.
- Safety conscious.
- Experience with 5S/6S and lean concepts would be an asset.
