Job Title: Accounting Manager

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, this onsite role is responsible for leading the day-to-day accounting operations. This role has both hands-on accounting duties and management duties. This role is a high-impact role that works closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, and is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all daily accounting operational functions.
Responsibilities section:
- Oversee the accounting operations, including the cash, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, payroll, sales tax and other general ledger accounting.
- Direct accounting responsibilities for significant accounts including inventory and deferred revenue.
- Manage inventory transactional details, E&O provisions, standard cost updates, cycle count oversight and other support as needed.
- Lead the month end, quarter end and year end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Reporting of actual results to our U.S. parent company, Ametek.
- Review and posting of journal entries, and review of working papers (on a tight close cycle).
- Approval of weekly selection for vendor payments.
- Treasury responsibilities including daily cash reporting, foreign exchange, tax payments, maintain bank account information, authorized signatory records, assist in bank guarantees.
- Review / approval of bi-weekly payroll processing for Canada and US employees.
- Review all Capital Expenditure submissions to ensure submission is complete and adheres to Company policy.
- Monitoring of financial KPI’s including Working Capital.
- Provide accounting guidance and research for financial matters as required.
- Manage, mentor, and train the accounting team, fostering a high performance and collaborative environment. Manage cross training within the team.
- Establish and maintain strong accounting policies and internal controls under Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”), including quarterly SOX testing and sign off.
- Coordinating activities of Statistics Canada.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors as required.
- Provide financial analysis and support for budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Identify areas for automation and continuous improvement and develop the necessary procedures.
Requirements section:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field designation. CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years of managing team members.
- US GAAP knowledge is an asset.
- Manufacturing experience is a significant asset.
- Experience with fully integrated ERP and CRM systems including Epicor and SalesForce is an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
- High attention to detail in all areas of work and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, presentation, problem solving, and organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to be a committed team player and provide exceptional internal and external customer service.
Salary Range: CDN $120,000 to $150,000.
