We are seeking a dynamic Senior R&D Engineer to join our team to help lead the design, development, and optimization of cutting-edge electro-mechanical systems and components. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product performance and ensure compliance with industry standards.
What you will do:
- Design, develop, and test linear motion systems and components, including motors, actuators, sensors, and control mechanisms, utilizing advanced engineering principles and methodologies.
- Continuously evaluate and iterate on alpha on beta builds to ensure market readiness.
- Conduct research and identify new technologies, materials, and processes that can enhance performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of new designs.
- Analyze and interpret data from experiments and simulations to optimize designs and troubleshoot issues.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Use simulation tools (FEA, CAD, etc.) to evaluate mechanical and electrical system behaviors.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
We are looking for:
- Bachelors degree in related field, Master's preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6+ years direct experience in research and development, with a focus on mechanical engineering or electro-mechanical systems.
- Proven track record of successfully leading R&D projects and delivering innovative solutions.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks (preferred), AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS, MATLAB).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and critically.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with project management tools and phase gate methodology a plus.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally <10%
