Job Description: 

Managing a Quality Assurance and Quality Control team. Being responsible for the overall quality of products released by the company. The Quality Manager is responsible for meeting the quality needs and expectations of our customers by maintaining a Quality Management System which fulfills the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100:2009 Rev C standards and driving continuous improvement throughout the facility.

 

What you will do:

  • Responsible for Haydon’s Quality Management System (QMS) upkeep, deployment, adherence and improvement in order to maintain ISO 9001:2008/AS9100:2009 Rev C compliance.
  • Maintain an understanding of current ISO and aerospace requirements.
  • Coordinate and direct site’s participation during regulatory (FAA, and FM) compliance audits.
  • Coordinate and direct site’s participation during customer audits.
  • Coordinate and direct site’s participation during internal audits.
  • Interface with customers and vendors to analyze field failures in order to identify their root cause and make corrective actions through quality planning initiatives and process improvements.
  • Must maintain exceedingly collaborative and effective interaction with production and engineering teams to proactively advance QMS as required to support world class manufacturing operations.
  • Direct implementation and follow up of systematic corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) by reviewing adequacy of root cause analysis, corrections, corrective actions, preventative actions and effectiveness.
  • Develop, maintain and report internal quality metrics and trend analysis to management such as but not limited to: QE project execution, deviations, CAPA, customer complaints, and non-conforming material.
  • Pro-actively identify areas where improvements in product and process quality can be made by monitoring quality metrics and analyzing underlying data (customer returns, scrap rates, on time deliveries and production productivity, etc.).
  • Lead Six Sigma teams in development and implementation of identified product and process improvements to deliver Customer Returns and scrap reductions per annual goals.
  • Provide statistical analysis in support of company production and quality objectives.
  • Provide Quality Engineering support to Engineering Design group in design development and reviews.
  • Provide Quality Engineering support to Manufacturing Engineering in process development.
  • Manage and distribute the workload within the QA department.
  • Insure timely disposition of non-conforming materials
  • Insure timely response and closure of RMA’s.
  • Provide failure analysis and corrective action reports to customers as required.
  • Assist with shop floor and in-house manufacturing quality issues.
  • Conduct employee quality awareness training.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage subordinates in the quality department to provide effective and efficient services to the site and its customers.  Direct reports include incoming inspection, fab inspection, in process inspection/FAA designee and quality engineers. 
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, training and evaluation of subordinates.
  • Responsible for managing direct reports time off in order to assure coverage is available to support production and customer service operations

 

 

We are looking for: 

 

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and/or an equivalent QA managerial work experience reflecting a demonstrated track-record of accomplishments in a manufacturing environment. 
  • 4+ years related experience within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3+ years demonstrated experience in a leadership role required

  • Knowledge of aerospace customer requirements and the ability to assure that these requirements are being met.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to organize, retain and manage multiple tasks on a regular basis.
  • Working knowledge of stepper motor theory, L/R chopper and micro-stepping drives.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Statistical analysis software and SPC experience (MiniTab).
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (GD&T ANSI Y14.5).
  • Ability to use all common inspection and test equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gages, comparator, salt fog and temperature chambers.

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $110,000
Salary Maximum:  $150,000
