Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Intern: Summer 2026

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern. This internship provides engineering students with the opportunity to gain real‑world, hands‑on experience while working at a world‑class electrical motor manufacturer. Interns will support the design, development, and testing of brushed and brushless DC motors, stepper motor‑based linear actuators, drives, and custom automation sub‑systems.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving challenging technical problems by applying engineering principles learned in the classroom and collaborating with experienced engineers, technicians, and cross‑functional teams. This role is designed for students who are available to work full‑time during the summer and part‑time during the academic year, based on school schedule and business needs.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with engineers to design, test, document, and validate new products
- Build, document, and validate electro‑mechanical performance of motors, drives, and circuitry
- Support resolution of design issues and implement improvements through the engineering change processExecute tests, analyze data, and generate technical reports to communicate findings and recommendations to engineering and management
- Create CAD models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks
- Design and develop test and assembly fixtures to support manufacturing and product development
What We Are Looking For:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Sophomore‑level standing or higher
- Coursework or experience related to mechanical engineering principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize information, files, and data effectively
- Team‑oriented mindset with a proactive, positive attitude and the ability to work independently or collaboratively as needed
Additional Characteristics:
- Knowledge of or interest in electric motors and rotating equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Experience working in a laboratory or shop environment
- Hands‑on experience with electrical test and measurement equipment
- Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis
