We have an immediate full-time opening for a Facilities Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine semi-skilled work, and general plant and equipment maintenance and repairs for assigned facility location(s).
What you will do:
- Work under general direction with a minimum of supervision
- Responsible for overall facility maintenance tasks inside and outside of the building including cleaning, room setup, and other tasks as assigned.
- Perform a wide range of tasks involved in maintaining general plant, HVAC, electrical and other equipment
- Follow and complete Preventative Maintenance schedule
- Manage, maintain and operate Plant wastewater evaporator
- Manage and maintain Plant Regulated Waste areas
- Coordinate on-call waste disposal: Construction dumpster, scrap metal, hazardous/regulated waste, etc.
- Assist with installing special equipment such as ducts, guards
- Assist with diagnosing and replacing or repair defective parts, troubleshoot
- Maintain plant operating equipment including airlines, tanks, heating plants, HVAC and general utilities distribution equipment
- Maintain records, data, and other pertinent information on repairs of machines
- Maintain company vehicle.
- Maintain supply of belts, hoses, filters, etc. for immediate use.
- Follow all safety regulations
- Maintain personal production and quality standards as determined by supervisor
- Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition
- Perform similar and other related duties as instructed or required
- Follow standard practices and procedures as outlined by policy
- Be available to work both scheduled overtime as well as on-call overtime.
What we are looking for:
- Ability to speak Spanish is not required but preferred.
- High school diploma or GED; 3-5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred safety and manufacturing certifications: forklift, First Aid, CPR, AED.
- Required background and knowledge of general maintenance with mechanical aptitude, as well as some electrical experience and understanding.
- General and basic knowledge of using power tools (drills, hammers, saws), plumbing, painting, and carpentry.

- This position works as both an individual contributor and in a team environment. Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and communicate effectively between departments and leadership.
- Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations that may arise.
- Must have the ability to fabricate for workstation modifications.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to perform various physical duties such as using hands, reaching, standing, crouching, sitting, climbing, etc.
- This position requires the ability to lift 30-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-30 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
- Ability to hear and see clearly is required to maintain personal and facility safety.
- Good manual dexterity and visual acuity are required.
- This position may be exposed to various industrial cleaning chemicals, oils, and vibrations.
