Job Title:  Engineering Systems & Digital Transformation Lead

Location:

Waterbury, CT, US, 06705

Business Unit:  Haydon Kerk Pittman
Posting Date:  Oct 8, 2026
Job Description:

Haydon Kerk Pittman (HKP) is modernizing how our global engineering organization creates, manages, and shares information and we are hiring the person who will lead it.

This is a rare build-it-from-the-ground-up opportunity. Today, our engineering knowledge, project data, and workflows are spread across disconnected systems. You will be the founding owner of a unified, AI-enabled engineering digital environment: consolidating those systems, making engineering knowledge instantly findable, and giving the organization real visibility into engineering execution.

You will report directly to the VP of Engineering and work side by side with the Engineering Program Manager, the IT Manager, and vendor implementation partners.

What you will do:

Consolidate HKP’s fragmented engineering systems (PLM/PDM, SharePoint, a custom engineering database, Salesforce, and standalone project files) into a single, well-governed digital environment where engineering knowledge is easy to find, workflows are standardized, and engineering workflows are visible at all times.

Primary Focus: Systems Consolidation & PLM Ownership

  • Own ProductCenter PLM/PDM as the functional system owner: configuration, workflows, user access, templates, data standards, and governance.
  • Lead the migration off disconnected legacy tools, consolidating engineering data into governed, authoritative systems.
  • Define and standardize engineering workflows across sites, including document control, configuration management, and engineering change.
  • Drive system upgrades, integrations, and implementations end to end through requirements definition, configuration, training, testing, deployment, and adoption.
  • Direct software vendors and implementation partners against defined scope, schedule, and deliverables.

Engineering Knowledge, AI & Workflow Automation

  • Deploy AI-enabled search and Copilot capabilities that make engineering knowledge (drawings, specifications, test data, and design history) retrievable across previously siloed systems.
  • Apply agentic AI and workflow automation to engineering processes, targeting manual routing, repetitive administrative work, and information hand-offs.
  • Build project and portfolio dashboards that give engineering leadership real-time visibility into status, resources, and bottlenecks.

Adoption, Governance & Support

  • Drive organization-wide adoption of the Microsoft 365 stack (Teams, SharePoint, Planner Premium) as the standard for engineering collaboration and project execution.
  • Serve as the primary support resource for engineering system users across all sites.
  • Deliver training, onboarding materials, and documentation that make the environment sustainable and reduce reliance on institutional knowledge.
  • Partner with the VP of Engineering and IT Leadership on the multi-year roadmap for engineering systems and digital capability.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • At least 7 years supporting engineering systems, PLM/PDM platforms, or engineering business applications or 5+ years with demonstrated ownership of a PLM/PDM environment including a full migration or major upgrade.
  • Working knowledge of engineering workflows: document control, configuration management, product data management, and engineering change processes.
  • Hands-on system administration and functional configuration experience, including governance, procedures, and end-user training.
  • Ability to influence and align engineering, IT, vendors, and users across multiple sites and time zones.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the judgment to prioritize what matters.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ownership of at least one significant system implementation, migration, or consolidation from requirements through adoption.
  • ProductCenter or a comparable PLM/PDM platform.
  • Microsoft 365 products depth (SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, and Copilot).
  • Experience evaluating or deploying AI-enabled tools, intelligent search, or workflow automation in a business setting.
  • SolidWorks or a comparable CAD environment.
  • Background in manufacturing, motion control, medical devices, or another fast-paced and hands-on engineering-driven industry.
