Job Title: DVP, Business Unit Controller

The DVP - Business Unit Controller is an essential member of the EMT (Electronic Microscopy Technologies) leadership team, contributing to the development and execution of the business’s annual strategic plan. The individual will play a key role in guiding the strategic direction and leading the efficient execution of activities to profitably grow the business.
This position reports directly to the DVP - Business Unit Manager and functionally to the Division Vice President of Finance. The role is directly responsible for the Finance and IT functions of the business unit with multiple direct reports across both functions.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive the organization to achieve short-term and long-term business objectives – Revenue growth, profit growth, and working capital improvements.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, including forecast updates and analysis of actual results vs. budget, forecast and prior year.

Manage and develop the business unit finance team.

Support global subsidiaries to work through major issues related to the business or financial matters.

Responsible for internal controls across the business unit, including SOX requirements and audit compliance.

Administer processes to correctly record revenue and profit in accordance with US GAAP. Ensure compliance to locate statutory accounting practices.

Prepare annual budget and strategic plan.

Ensure the ERP and systems strategy meets the ongoing and long term needs of the business.

Partner with Product Management and R&D leaders to drive improvements to the product life cycle planning and R&D investment strategy.

Partner with the Sales and Marketing organization to advance key commercial and customer relationship to drive market expansion.
Required Knowledge and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance. MBA / CPA / CMA a plus.

Minimum eight to ten years accounting or finance experience.

Supervisory experience.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Must be familiar with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally both locally and throughout the organization.
- Experience working in ERP and financial consolidation systems.
