The Financial Site Controller will serve as a key finance leader for the site, partnering closely with business leadership, operations, product management, R&D, and global finance teams to drive financial performance, strengthen controls, and support profitable growth. This role is responsible for leading site-level accounting, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, compliance, and financial analysis while developing a high-performing local finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with site and business unit leadership to achieve short- and long-term financial objectives, including revenue growth, EBITDA expansion, working capital improvement, and disciplined cost management.
- Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial review, and timely submission of HFM reporting requirements.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, forecasts, and management reporting packages.
- Analyze actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior year, clearly communicating key drivers, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
- Lead the annual budget and strategic planning processes for the site, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational priorities.
- Manage, coach, and develop the local finance team while fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and strong business partnership.
- Support global subsidiaries and cross-functional teams in resolving significant business, accounting, reporting, or financial matters.
- Oversee internal controls, SOX compliance, audit readiness, and timely remediation of control gaps or process deficiencies.
- Ensure revenue and expense recognition practices are accurate and compliant with ASC 606, U.S. GAAP, local statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Provide financial leadership for working capital management, including inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow performance.
- Partner with operations leaders to improve visibility into manufacturing costs, margins, inventory performance, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure ERP, reporting, and financial systems support the current and long-term needs of the business, including process standardization, data integrity, and scalable reporting.
- Collaborate with product management and R&D leaders to improve product life cycle planning, investment prioritization, project financials, and return-on-investment visibility.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that strengthen financial controls, improve reporting quality, reduce manual work, and increase decision-making speed.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or technology environment.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to develop talent, set clear expectations, and build a strong finance team.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition principles, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, working capital management, and management reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with operations and business leaders to translate financial results into actionable business insights.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, ownership, and sound business judgment.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP systems, Hyperion/HFM, query tools, Intuitive, or QuickBooks preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a site controller, plant controller, accounting manager, finance manager, or similar operational finance leadership role.
- Manufacturing finance experience, including product costing, inventory analysis, margin analysis, and operational performance reporting.
- Experience supporting SOX controls, internal audits, external audits, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated success improving financial processes, reporting cadence, data quality, and business partnership.
- Comfort working in a decentralized, global business environment with cross-functional and international stakeholders.
