Job Title: Utility Operator

As an Utility operator, you will be operate and maintain rolling mills and furnaces, completes reductions and compactions of powder, performs quality checks, handles packaging and shipment, and ensures production requirements are met through various tasks. This is a first shift position working Sundays from 6a-6p and Mon - Wed from 6a - 4p. The rate of pay for this role is $25/hr.
The Utility Operator will:
- • Operate a wide range of production equipment including rolling, annealing, grinding, and other machinery.
• Interprets blueprints or mill cards to determine product specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
• Executes all powder operations required for ESC parts production, which includes blending, reducing, grinding, and screening of powders.
• Utilizes soak and batch furnaces as necessary to facilitate production processes.
• Conducts rolling, shearing, and saw cutting operations as part of the manufacturing process.
• Conducts quality checks using various measuring devices to ensure products meet both internal and customer standards.
• Handles packaging and shipment of materials, including necessary paperwork and record-keeping.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform multiple functions on a daily basis to meet production requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed by ESC Supervisor.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately.
• Provide training to other operators as required.
• Conduct safety checks and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Operate NX line primarily on weekends. - Fulfill other assigned duties as necessary.
The Utility Operator requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer functions for data entry purposes.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- Able to fluently read/write english without assistance.
- Be a US Person (facility is ITAR regulated).
The Utility Operator must also be able to do the following:
- Ability to repetitively walk, stand, bend, stoop, push/pull, lift, grasp/feel, see, talk, hear, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to work around metal powders and nickels.
- Ability to wear a respirator while conducting job duties.
- Ability to work around and on industrial equipment.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (e.g., forklift, scissor lift, front-end loader, payloader)
- Ability to ascend and descend steep stairs and ladders.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.
- Ability to work in a production area with usually moderate noise level. The production area is not climate controlled.
