Job Summary

 

Results-oriented Site Leader to oversee and provide hands-on leadership at our metal finishing facility specializing in anodizing, passivation, blasting, electropolishing, laser etching, and polishing services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operational excellence, team leadership, and delivering high-quality solutions to the medical device market. This position offers an opportunity to lead a critical site for a growing organization with a strong focus on safety, quality, efficiency, customer and employee satisfaction.

 

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Direct and oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient production workflows and adherence to quality standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve operational goals, including productivity, cost control, and on-time delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Utilize scheduled and forecasted demand and associated labor hours to determine staffing requirements in coordination with Human Resource department.

 

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performance teams across production, quality, maintenance, and support functions in line and in collaboration with organizational goals and structure.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and growth opportunities for team members.
  • Celebrate & cascade site, business and general information updates via scheduled all-hands and department meetings.

 

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, FDA regulations, and customer requirements specific to the medical device industry.
  • Partner with the quality team to address non-conformance issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain rigorous process controls and documentation practices.

 

Customer Focus:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key medical device customers, ensuring alignment on quality and delivery expectations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for site-level customer inquiries, audits and growth objectives.
  • Partner with Commercial and SIOP team to develop and sustain an accurate means of forecasting and order status using production tools such as Visual Manufacturing or other appropriate manufacturing software.
  • Manage quoting, estimating and engineering development of new products and processes which contribute to the growth and value add services of the site.

 

Financial Management:

  • Manage site budgets, including labor, materials, and capital expenditures.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service levels.
  • Report site performance metrics to executive leadership.
  • Partner with Finance and Commercial team to establish manufacturing costs (labor, overhead, material, and outsource) for optimized quoting and estimating, including associated development and NRE costs

 

 

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure all site operations comply with safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture and conduct regular training and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with business reporting standards.

4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree

Engineering, Chemistry, operations management or related field.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Experience

 

Ten plus years in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Expertise in metal finishing processes, particularly chemical, anodizing, passivation and electropolishing, is strongly preferred.

 

Experience working in highly regulated industries, such as medical devices or aerospace.

 

Strong knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA quality system regulations and special process validations, is strongly preferred.

 

Demonstrated ability to lead lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Working knowledge, leadership and practical application of EH&S (environmental, health and safety) reporting and compliance.

 

Experience in blueprint interpretation and requirements, translating to manufacturing processes.

Work Environment

  • Work performed in both office and manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment fluctuates based on the area, office is low – manufacturing can be higher. Chemical processing occurs, which requires special precautions when in these areas.
