Atlas Material Testing is seeking a Technical Service Representative to join our U.S. Tech Service Team, servicing customers across the Midwest. In this role, you will be responsible for performing basic on-site installation and general maintenance tasks on technology products while helping resolve customer problems and answering questions. The scope of the job function includes reporting and record keeping that supports maintenance requirements. The efforts related to reporting serve to expand product line while proactively broadening sales options within scope of assigned clients. Positions demand heavy travel and operate in a decentralized structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conducting tests on instruments and mechanical components, electro- status devices, electronic components, circuits, and software within equipment to verify or calibrate for correct operation or to identify, diagnose, and repair cause(s) of malfunction.
- Converses with equipment operators to determine operational problems with equipment, and replace defective components, wiring, or software and adjusts mechanical parts and software settings as needed.
- Aligns, adjusts, and calibrates equipment according to Atlas Material Testing Technology LLC specifications and other OEM specifications consistent with quality standards and guidelines.
- Provides training to equipment users on operation, basic maintenance, user calibration and all warranty covered issues.
- Prepares and presents detailed quotes, agreements, and service reports, that include pricing, discounts, and payment terms set by Atlas Material Testing Technology LLC as well as exercise judgment concerning warranty issues.
- Responsible for creating, maintaining, and submitting technical service records related to client activity including service schedules and business expenses.
- Maintains working parts inventory level and maintains up-to-date calibration documentation.
- Perform work according to Atlas process and quality standards.
Requirements for Consideration:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or vocational technical school, electrical and mechanical training; or two years related technology support experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience reading and deciphering schematics and working with high voltage equipment and electrical devices.
- Demonstrated mathematical aptitude involving practical algebraic and statistical methodologies applicable to problem solving needs for clients.
- Proficient with MS office windows and capable of navigating through systems and applications.
- Valid driver's license required and may require a valid passport.
- Previous job experience that requires extensive travel between work locations and remote sites.
- Previous work experience within fast-paced, multi-task work environments.
- Experience troubleshooting and solving problems within technical expertise.
- Capable of making independent decisions within policies, procedures and standard guidelines.
- Communication skills are technically oriented, requiring minimal collaboration and focus on problem solving client needs.
