The Senior TEST Sales Manager, North America is responsible for leading and growing the AMETEK STC TEST business across the North American region, delivering revenue, profitability, and market share objectives while driving sustainable business growth.
This role provides strategic commercial leadership through the development and execution of regional sales strategies, business development initiatives, and channel management programs that strengthen customer engagement and expand market presence.
The position leads, coaches, and develops a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement. The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for managing key customer, distributor, and channel partner relationships; identifying and converting new business opportunities; and driving value-based sales of AMETEK STC products and solutions.
Working closely with Marketing, Product Management, Operations, and other cross-functional teams, the role provides Voice of Customer insights, supports product and portfolio growth initiatives, and helps identify emerging market opportunities.
The Senior Sales Manager oversees commercial negotiations, contract management, sales forecasting, pipeline development, CRM compliance, and market intelligence activities while representing AMETEK STC at customer visits, industry events, trade shows, and technical presentations.
As a senior commercial leader within North America, this position plays a critical role in aligning regional sales execution with global business objectives, driving organizational collaboration, and ensuring the achievement of strategic growth and profitability targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Deliver the assigned territory contribution to the global sales budget across all TEST business, driving sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of two direct reports, ensuring achievement of sales objectives, talent development, and succession planning.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market share, increase customer engagement, and strengthen channel performance.
- Manage and develop distributor and channel partner relationships, driving sales growth, market penetration, and alignment with company objectives.
- Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities through proactive lead generation and business development activities.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, strategic accounts, distributors, and industry stakeholders.
- Demonstrate and communicate the value proposition of company products and solutions, utilising value-selling and financial justification techniques to support customer investment decisions.
- Lead commercial negotiations, including tenders, contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term commercial arrangements.
- Provide technical and commercial pre-sales support, including application guidance, solution development, and quotation management.
- Represent the company through customer presentations, technical seminars, roadshows, exhibitions, and other industry events.
- Deliver accurate weekly sales reporting, pipeline management, and revenue forecasting to support business planning.
- Maintain high-quality CRM data, ensuring accurate recording of customer interactions, opportunities, forecasts, and market activity.
- Collaborate with Marketing to support growth initiatives and provide Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback to guide campaigns, messaging, and product positioning.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, emerging technologies, and customer requirements, sharing actionable market intelligence across the organization.
- Partner closely with Product Management to support strategic initiatives, product development, portfolio enhancement, and new market opportunities.
- Act as a senior commercial leader within the region, driving cross-functional collaboration and supporting the achievement of broader business objectives.
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in sales management, distributor management in process or industrial markets.
- Specific experience in the material testing industry is a plus
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team, as manager, project manager or lead.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to convert technical enquiries and web leads into sales opportunities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer relationship skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities across customers and sales team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to support customers, distributors, trade shows, training, and internal business needs
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
