Job Description: 

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Data Lead to own the data strategy, governance, and migration workstreams for our SAP S/4HANA implementation program. This role is critical to ensuring clean, accurate, and well-governed data across the enterprise as we transition to S/4HANA, and will serve as the primary authority on data quality, migration methodology, and master data standards throughout the program lifecycle.  In this role, you will also have the SAP S/4 data migration team as direct reports. 

 

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Lead the end-to-end data workstream for the S/4HANA program, including data assessment, cleansing, mapping, migration, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Define and own the data migration strategy, approach, and tooling.
  • Develop and enforce master data governance standards for key domains (e.g., Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance, Chart of Accounts, Cost Center).
  • Partner with business process owners to define data quality rules, cleansing criteria, and acceptance thresholds prior to migration.
  • Oversee data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities from legacy systems into S/4HANA.
  • Lead mock and final data load cycles, coordinating with functional teams (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, PM, etc.) to validate data readiness.
  • Establish data reconciliation processes to ensure completeness and accuracy between legacy and target systems.
  • Manage a team of data analysts, data migration specialists, and offshore resources supporting the data workstream.
  • Identify data-related risks and issues, and develop mitigation plans in coordination with program leadership.
  • Define and track KPIs/metrics for data quality, migration progress, and defect resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX) throughout the migration.
  • Support post-go-live data governance, including ongoing master data maintenance processes and controls.
  • Document data standards, migration runbooks, and lessons learned for future phases or rollouts,

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, related field. 
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP data management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Experience with the SAP Master Data Governance application
  • Experience with the Syniti application    
  • Experience managing a team   
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to adapt leadership style to different situations and people as well as to a complex business structure.  
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
