Reporting to the Director of Procurement Operations, the Senior Manager of Logistics will work across all AMETEK business units. In this new role you will bring professional logistics management expertise to the company, identifying opportunities for improvement in service, cost and compliance in a global setting.
In a matrix environment, you will collaborate both internally and externally to drive the creation of a world class Logistics operation for the company. By advocating for and implementing a range of solutions to our internal businesses, you will be the subject matter expert for inbound and outbound freight and parcel services and connectivity to internal systems.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Provide Strategic guidance and support to AMETEK Corporate and all Business Units
- Understand the current AMETEK environment and processes for logistics services
- Create and implement a logistics strategy and roadmap for AMETEK.
- Ensure an effective balance in service levels and costs for logistics services
- Utilize knowledge of the logistics market globally to identify cost savings and service improvement opportunities
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, carriers, and other logistics partners
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
- Determine the appropriate IT solutions for connectivity to AMETEK systems for booking and tracking of freight and parcel services
- Work with Trade Compliance colleagues to design processes for fast, reliable and accurate international shipments
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum 8-10 years experience in working in logistics and/or supply chain roles
- Proven experience working globally in a matrix, multi-national manufacturing environment
- In-depth knowledge of ‘state of the art’ logistics processes and systems
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaboration experience within a global or multi-site environment and proven ability to influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment
- Comfortable interacting with senior leadership, making presentations and advocating for best practice in areas of expertise
- English language (written and verbal) – essential
- Willingness to travel as needed to interact with internal and external partners
