Job Summary:

The Project & Field Service Engineer is a key member of the customer support team and will travel to customer sites to perform services, such as the calibration and repair of equipment. The successful candidate will be an ambassador of Surface Vision and will need to develop good working relationships with customers and always strive to ensure that they are satisfied with the Company’s products and services. It is also important that the Field Service Engineer help identify potential new business opportunities including equipment upgrades, training and other products and services.

The Field Service Engineer must demonstrate strong technical skills, excellent communication, time management, planning, and organizational skills. As much of the work will take place independently at customer facilities, the candidate must be able to think and work independently with little direction and be able to improvise with a limited set of available resources.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage and perform system installations at customer sites. 
  • Successfully plan, organize, lead projects from order to customer acceptance.
  • Produce and communicate technically accurate project documentation, including product configuration and scope. 
  • Coordinate all internal and external customer activities.
  • Assume full responsibility for the overall achievement of assigned projects. 
  • Perform installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, exhibitions, trials, site support, and training for customers. 
  • Participate in our continuous improvement program with the different key stakeholders.
  • Maintain and build relationships with customers.
  • Ensure timely communication, resolution, and proper follow-up to maintain and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Create and support an atmosphere of collaboration, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to internal safety requirements and customer-specific safety requirements while performing work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 


Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ability to communicate with customers at different levels – shop floor to senior management.
  • Able to analyze technical problems and drive them to solutions.
  • Electrical and Mechanical knowledge (basic)
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic PC hardware.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and have good hand and finger dexterity.
  • Require minimal oversight and work successfully both individually and in groups.
  • Quickly adapts to change with positive and constructive feedback.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites or to AMETEK factory, 50-75% of work time 
     

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $115,000
Salary Maximum:  $140,000
Incentive:  No
