Job Description: 

The Field Service Technician provides service and customer support at customer locations on the full line of AMETEK Level Measurement Solutions (LMS) products. Field Service Engineers preform operational verification, commissioning, startup, configuration, troubleshooting, preventive or corrective repair and training on all AMETEK LMS products.  This position can be based in any location near an airport in the gulf states (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama).

 

Responsibilities

  • Travel to job sites on land within the designated home region(s).
  • Provide customers with world class support at location of installed product. Commission, configure and evaluate the installation of AMETEK LMS product(s).
  • Troubleshoot product and process related issues.
  • Perform testing functions.
  • Repair replace or initiate RMA process for defective parts.
  • Prepare and monitor various documents sent to customers.
  • Enter and manage field support cases into the business system related to field service visits.
  • Effectively communicate with customers to convey results of site visit.
  • Identify and share product/ commercial remarks with the service team in view of collaboration with sales, product management, engineering and other internal support to resolve and/ or escalate customer issues and concerns.
  • Identify quality issues to the service team in view of escalation with other appropriate departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, or 10+ years industry experience 
  • 1-3 years of industry related knowledge and experience (electronics/ electromechanical/ instrumentation preferred).
  • Basic technical aptitude and electro-mechanical skill set.
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with outside sales reps and with customers.
  • Capable of meeting physical requirements of safety training courses including HUET (helicopter underwater escape).
