Job Title:  Painter I

What You'll Do:

As a Painter I, you will play a key role in preparing and finishing aircraft components to the highest quality standards by:

• Preparing parts for painting through cleaning, sanding, stripping, masking, and surface preparation

• Applying primers, paints, and specialty coatings using spray equipment and other approved methods

• Following technical specifications, work instructions, and engineering drawings

• Mixing paints and coating materials according to manufacturer requirements

• Inspecting finished surfaces to ensure exceptional appearance and quality

• Performing touch-ups and rework as needed

• Maintaining paint equipment, spray booths, and work areas

• Following all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

• Completing production and quality documentation accurately

• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and collaborating with teammates across departments

• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and specifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in painting, industrial coatings, manufacturing, automotive refinishing, or aerospace environments

• Experience operating spray paint equipment

• Vocational training in painting, coatings, automotive refinishing, or a related field

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or quality-focused production environments

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday

• Ability to wear respirators, protective clothing, and required PPE

• Ability to work in paint booths and manufacturing environments with exposure to coatings, chemicals, and varying temperatures

Work Environment:

This position is based in a manufacturing and aerospace repair environment where quality, safety, and teamwork are essential. Overtime opportunities may be available to support customer delivery schedules.
