Job Description:
Position Summary:
- Calibration technicians perform routine and complex work related to the repair and calibration of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment.
- All duties will be performed in a fast-paced, multi-tasking and flexible environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Calibration encompassing the following core disciplines: temperature, pressure, mass, torque, force, dimensional, dc and low frequency. Additional training will be provided as needed.
- A strong understanding of a wide variety of precision measurement equipment, to include the care and use of instrumentation, gages, and precision measurement equipment, calibration program management, and measurement principles.
- Perform a variety of duties to independently inspect and calibrate gauges, measuring instruments, and test to internal procedure, industry standards, and defined practices.
- Plan and prioritize required calibrations for gages, instruments, and equipment to maintain manufacturer's and quality department's specified calibration schedules. Schedule calibration for outside vendors on equipment.
- Use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature controllers etc.
- Verify accuracy and/or qualify gauges, instruments, and equipment to maintain required resolution and tolerances.
- Knowledge of principles, procedures, methods and techniques in metrology gained through education, professional experience or military service
- Ensure all inspection, measuring, and testing equipment is calibrated ISO NIST and other quality systems.
- Excellent math skills including geometry, algebra and statistics.
- Achieve customer satisfaction through completion of calibration services within expected timeframes, as assigned by manager.
- Accurately enter data into tracking data base. May occasionally perform final inspection of work completed by other technicians.
- Create calibration data sheets accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision based upon instrument specifications and approved calibration procedures.
- Complete all documentation supporting customer requirements, iso, nist and other quality systems.
- Interact with contractors for items requiring repair or limited calibration offsite.
- Apply acquired job skills and company policies and procedure to complete assigned tasks.
- Have substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge to complete a wide range of tasks.
- Perform moderate to high complexity calibrations, pd, gp & some rf measurement areas
- Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance
- Perform work at other AMETEK locations as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- Associates Degree from an accredited college, university or technical school; or Certificate of Training from an Electronics / Technical Institute, or two to five years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
- 2-4 years of related experience

Typical Working Conditions:
- Work will be conducted mostly indoors in a “shop” type environment.
- Exposure to heat or cold will mostly be limited to when walking from one building to another or if bay doors have been opened to allow for shipping and receiving activities. The use of PPE such as safety glasses and safety toed shoes are required in designated working areas.
