Job Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the development and management of key accounts and sales channels in Japan.  This position is accountable for growing the sales funnel and to accurately forecasting orders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and expand sales territories within the assigned EMEA region.
  • Meet sales financial targets by accurately forecasting requirements and aligning with company objectives.
  • Drive sales funnel growth and ensure the accuracy of forecasts to meet or exceed targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Establish regular calls and engage actively with the distributors / identified accounts to ensure continual growth.
  • Acquire in-depth product knowledge by attending technical training sessions and staying current with industry trends and competitor products.
  • Conduct performance reviews with channel partners and provide regular status on each channel partner’s performance to plan along with updated revisions to sales and marketing strategies, territorial expansion, and other actions required in order to achieve and exceed projected targets.
  • Represent Ametek at sales meetings, trade shows, and conferences to identify leads and promote products.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to demonstrate Ametek PPD's capabilities and solutions.
  • Actively manage direct sales channels, including OEMs, Channel Partners, end users, and engineering firms, within your territory.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, installations, and customer training, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with AMETEK’s policies and national regulations while managing sales activities.
  • Provide regular performance feedback to senior management and ensure customer inquiries are handled promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system, including pricing, sales activities, and customer interactions.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 – 7 years of experience, with at least 3 years as a B2B sales manager with increasing responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of the local market in Japan for AC and DC programmable power supplies, electronic loads, application specific power systems, and compliance test solutions.
  • Strong facilitation skills, including ability to negotiate both internally and when customer-facing, on commercial and technical matters.
  • Self-directed and independent work ethic; action-oriented team player; ability to think strategically but be hands-on in tackling issues / topics at hand; measure and report progress against defined objectives.
  • Detail-oriented problem-solving skills; objective approach to analysis and total business impact.
  • Excellent writing skills appropriate for documents suitable for publication.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the highest level of business ethics.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English (written and spoken)
  • International mindset and intercultural experience
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and dababase applications (namely CRM)

 

Additional Details: 

Ability to travel 50% predominately within Japan.
