NSI-MI’s Co-Op and internship program offers opportunities for students to gain technical and hands-on experience in mechanical design, analysis, documentation, and support for large-scale precision machines and structures.

 

NSI-MI is looking for talented and creative individuals with a passion for engineering to join our team.

                    

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work under the supervision of engineers to perform mechanical engineering analysis, design, or selection of components, and assist with project coordination. Participate in tests of machinery that may include test fixture design, writing test procedures, data acquisition, and publishing test reports. Effectively function in a team environment and participate in continuous improvement efforts.

  • Engineering support for:
    • Mechanical parts and assemblies
    • Component selection and documentation
    • Antenna mechanical design
    • Electronic packaging
    • Manufacturing
  • Test and troubleshooting of:
    • Positioners and motion controllers
    • Mechanical components and assemblies
  • Development of high-quality engineering documentation

 

Required Skills: 

  • Strong engineering fundamentals
  • Demonstrate understanding of classical static and strength of materials.
  • 3D computer-aided design of mechanical parts and assemblies, SolidWorks preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Able to perform tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and work productively to solve problems.

 

Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

 

Desirable skills: 

  • Good technical writing, oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Hands-on machine assembly and part fabrication experience

 

Experience Level: None required.

 

Education: Student pursuing Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering

 

Location: Greater Atlanta (Suwanee, Georgia)

Salary Minimum:  $55,000
