Position Summary:
The Environmental Health, Safety & Facilities Manager is responsible for leading and continuously improving environmental, health, safety, and facilities programs at the Suwanee, Georgia facility. This role ensures compliance with AMETEK policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
In addition to EHS leadership, this position is responsible for facility operations, maintenance, capital improvement activities, contractor management, and business continuity readiness. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, and Facilities service providers to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS)
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, workers’ compensation, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Lead hazard assessments, job safety analyses, risk assessments, and corrective action programs.
- Conduct incident, injury, near miss, and environmental event investigations using structured root-cause methodologies.
- Establish and track EHS metrics, objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate employee safety training, onboarding, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance training.
- Administer emergency response, evacuation, fire protection, hazardous material management, and business continuity programs.
- Support internal, customer, regulatory, and corporate EHS audits.
- Chair safety committee activities and actively promote employee engagement in safety initiatives.
- Maintain required environmental permits, records, and reporting obligations.
Facilities Management
- Direct day-to-day facility operations and maintenance activities.
- Manage preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building systems, grounds, and infrastructure.
- Select, negotiate, and manage contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Develop and manage operating and capital expenditure budgets for facility improvements and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building, fire, life safety, and accessibility requirements.
- Support facility expansion, workspace planning, office moves, renovations, and capital projects.
- Coordinate facility readiness for customer visits, audits, and business operations.
- Maintain facility security, access control, and related support systems
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Eight or more years of progressive EHS and/or facilities management experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS reporting systems.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and to access export-controlled information where required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), CHMM, or similar certification.
- Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, electronics, or high-technology environments.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and EHS management systems.
- Experience managing capital projects and contractor safety programs.
- Working knowledge of hazardous materials management and environmental compliance programs.
