Job Summary:

The Director of Sales & Marketing is a strategic, highly collaborative commercial leader responsible for driving NSI‑MI’s growth across global markets. This role oversees both the Sales and Marketing organizations, ensuring alignment between customer needs, market positioning, and revenue objectives. The Director will set integrated go‑to‑market strategies, build high‑performance teams, strengthen key customer relationships, and develop data‑driven marketing and sales initiatives that support profitable, sustainable growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership & Growth Strategy

  • Develop and execute an integrated sales strategy that achieves growth targets across assigned markets.
  • Lead the sales organization in identifying, qualifying, and capturing new business opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customer accounts at multiple levels within their organizations.
  • Drive preferred‑supplier positioning and foster long‑term strategic partnerships.
  • Guide opportunity development, proposal strategy, pricing inputs, and capture plans to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor sales funnel, forecast accuracy, and customer trends to support proactive business planning.
  • Support expansion into adjacent markets, including EW, New Space, and other high‑growth emerging markets.
  • Partner with Engineering, Business Development, Service, and Operations to ensure successful order execution and follow‑on opportunity creation.

Marketing Leadership & Brand Strategy

  • Develop and oversee implementation of the company’s global marketing strategy, aligning branding, messaging, and campaigns with business goals.
  • Manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring strategic allocation across tradeshows, digital campaigns, advertising, and product content.
  • Lead planning and execution of all tradeshows, short courses, industry events, and technical marketing initiatives.
  • Oversee technical release schedules, ensuring timely updates to website content, datasheets, brochures, and promotional materials.
  • Measure and report performance across marketing initiatives.
  • Direct the creation, editing, and quality control of technical marketing content in coordination with Engineering.
  • Develop integrated advertising and lead‑generation campaigns informed by market analysis and competitive research.
  • Champion use of digital tools and AI‑driven marketing applications to enhance efficiency and scale.

Cross‑Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build and lead a high‑performing sales and marketing organization, providing coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Ensure strong alignment between Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Business Development.
  • Lead internal communication of commercial strategies, metrics, customer insights, and competitive positioning.
  • Serve as a senior member of the leadership team, contributing to business‑unit strategy and long‑term planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, business development, and/or marketing.
  • Proven leadership experience managing sales and/or marketing teams.
  • Demonstrated success selling highly technical systems, solutions, or engineered products.
  • Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to connect technical capabilities to customer needs.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Capability to travel domestically and internationally (30%+).
  • Due to the nature of NSI‑MI programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and be authorized to access export‑controlled information.

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $180,000
Salary Maximum:  $200,000 +
Incentive:  Yes
