Job Description:
Scope of Role:
Manage and maintain the Company’s Suppliers by working closely with internal customers such as operations, purchasing, project leaders, external suppliers to develop a mutually agreeable relationship.
Alongside the Supply Chain management team, develop a strategy for ongoing development and continuous improvement of key strategic suppliers including assessment and future planning.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Company’s Supplier audit management in accordance with the BMS system.
- Develop and maintain the supplier monitoring process through using analytical techniques including enhancing the supplier score card, and other KPIs are deemed appropriate over the AAG companies.
- Ensure all supplier quality system documentation maintenance is kept up to date – Supplier Quality Manual.
- Maintain the supplier quality metrics working within the targets set and ensuring any non-conformances are subject to disposition in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain a Supplier database, scope of supply, frequency of review, etc.
- Have sufficient technical expertise to carry out robust Problem Solving using 8D Root Cause, Corrective Action both internally and with suppliers.
- Be competent in conducting 2nd & 1st party audits – a recognised lead auditing qualification is desirable.
- Support the internal NCR process and disposition. Analyse any trends therein and take appropriate action.
- Support the supplier selection strategy for New Product Introduction
- Support 3rd party audits as required.
- Promote/Support Continuous Improvement / Lean practices
- Good communication skills to succinctly capture and report out findings, improvements, etc. with good MS Office skill.
- Develop and deliver in-house training to support Certified Operator program, related to supplier approval.
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
- Significant proven experience of working in a supplier management role within a quality environment
- Ability to work in multi-functional teams, both externally and internally
- Aerospace/automotive experience would be desirable
- Proven planning skills
- Previous experience of producing accurate and detailed comprehensive written reports on suppliers
- Significant Microsoft Office skills, including the creation of Excel spreadsheets.
- Six Sigma knowledge essential, green belt would be desirable
- Knowledge of aerospace regulatory requirements and authorities is desirable
- Good command of the English language and very articulate
- Good presentation and communication skills to groups of around 10-50 people
- Lean manufacturing experience would be desirable
