Job Description: 

Scope of Role:

  • Bring spend within their category under procurement management using set strategies
  • Use said strategies to achieve optimal cost reduction, manage supplier relationships and risk.
  • Accountable for identifying, setting and managing metrics to ensure suppliers achieve the required delivery and quality performance levels
  • Work collaboratively, exhibit a strong sense of urgency to meet customer timelines, exhibit an intense curiosity/learning drive, successfully operate in a fast-paced environment, engage/influence key stakeholders, be extremely customer-focused, and continuously develop their business acumen

 

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Bring spend within the category under procurement management through theme execution/implementation, strategic management, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Identify and develop new supplier opportunities, with improved focus on low-cost regions.
  • Own relationships with key site and stakeholder leadership.
  • Ensure the management of supplier relationships and risk.
  • Implement sourcing strategies in collaboration with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risks and costs.
  • Identify, set, and manage metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery.
  • Drive results through the creation and management of competitive bidding processes.
  • Analyse data and market trends for use in strategy creation and management.
  • Work collaboratively with a strong sense of urgency to meet customer timelines.
  • Engage and influence key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support Operational Purchasing team in relation to product flow, obsolescence and last time buys as required

 

Professional Knowledge & Experience:

 

  1. Aerospace or other regulated industry experience with technical ability to read drawings and understand manufacturing processes
  2. Degree in Purchasing & Supply or CIPs qualified an advantage
  3. Experience of strategic planning towards cost reduction, VA/VE, vendor management, vendor reduction programmes
  4. Excellent analytical skills, ability to create Excel Spreadsheets, presentations etc
  5. Proven track record in improving Supplier Relations, Cost reduction and lead-time reduction
  6. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
