Job Title: Quality Investigations Engineer
Sunbury on Thames, SRY, GB, TW16 7EF
Scope of Role:
Management of investigations of products returned from customers for repair and products failing during the internal manufacturing processes.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
· Organise repairs and returns upon receipt
· Maintain returns database
· Identify and confirm fault types (mechanical and electrical)
· Perform routine high volume assessments for overhauls by unit strip down using visual (microscopic) inspection techniques
· Support investigations into internal product failures using electrical and mechanical test equipment
· Document overhaul and repair instructions incorporating EASA Part 145 requirements
· Administration of all investigation documentation ensuring traceability is retained at all times
· Customer facing, supporting both onsite and external visits
· Producing investigation reports for the customer and supporting the production of 8D responses
· Support FRACAS process
Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions
· Take part in Internal audits and action any issues raised for areas of responsibility
· Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role as identified by the role Manager.
· Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the role manager/acting manager or Directors.
· At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction.
· On occasion you maybe required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to training, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments.
Limits of Fiscal/Management Authority
· Delegated responsibility for engineering change control (quality)
· Sign off purchase orders in line with the financial guidelines
· Not permitted to change Business Management processes, procedures and guidelines without formal approval but expected to make recommendations.
